Nikki Sixx turns the page
As any nice guy can tell you, the bad boys get all the girls. Mötley Crüe bassist and founder Nikki Sixx had women (and men) lined up out the door for his recent book signing at the Uptown Borders.
Nikki has been sober a long time now, but his new book consists of his journal entries from 1986 and '87. The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star examines a year when he OD'd twice on heroin. (The first time, a paramedic revived him with adrenaline; the second, the London drug dealer who shot him up dropped his body in a trash bin, where he awoke later and discovered that he was not dead.)
And like any reformed rock star, Nikki has learned there is money out there for the astute businessman. He recently partnered with fashionista Kelly Gray. (Her parents created the St. John fashion house, and she was the company's longtime model). Together, they've launched the Royal Underground Clothing line.

The Mötley Crüe bassist recently released "The Heroin Diaries," a 400-plus-page book covering the year he nearly kicked the bucket while touring behind his band's "Girls, Girls, Girls" album. The book, by the way, premiered at No. 7 on the New York Times' nonfiction best-seller list. There's an accompanying soundtrack by his band Sixx:A.M. His clothing line, Royal Underground, is flying off the racks at high-end retailers. And last month, the 48-year-old rocker, born Frank Feranna, spoke out about addiction on Capitol Hill. Sixx makes an appearance today at 2 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo. We spoke to him by phone from his Los Angeles home... more
